Baltazar team at the Project Management workshop - University of Applied Sciences

Kristina Kobrehel and Karlo Masnjak, assistants at the specialist graduate study of Project Management took part in the 7th national Project Management Workshop organised by the Young Crew Croatia Association, where they represented our University.

The national workshop is a traditional annual event of the Association which gathers ambitious young people who are primarily interested in project management. But the overall aim is to acquire new skills and knowledge, getting to know new trends in project management and exchanging experiences with people from different parts of Croatia and world. This year the workshop took place on June 9 – 11 in Brijuni, at the same time as the International Project Management Competition Championships, which gathered the best student teams from Spain, Lithuania, Italy, Finland, Germany and Serbia.

The topic of the workshop was “Change the way you manage projects”, which presents agile values and mindset regarding project management as opposed to the traditional ways of managing projects. The concept of the workshop was based on learning through different games. Each game had its own levels and after each level, the scores were recorded. This facilitated topic coverage, while the results graphically presented the lecturers’ arguments.

“We were split into teams and had the chance to work and collaborate with people from different countries, with different interests and standpoints on how to manage projects. It was an amazing experience for us assistants as future lecturers to participate in this workshop. Since the games are really easy to handle, we will definitely use them in our classes”, said Kristina Kobrehel, prof. spec. oec.

Besides learning and participating in workshops, every spare moment was spent on networking events, team building, dinners, informal entertaining and exploring the beauties of Brijuni.
