The action of registering with the Croatian Peripheral Blood Stem Cells Donors Registry organized by the Student Council Baltazar and the Ana Rukavina Foundation was held today at the UAS Baltazar Zaprešić.
This was the second action of registering with the Croatian Peripheral Blood Stem Cells Donors Registry held at our university. Thanks to a great number of students and citizens of Zaprešić who have attended this action, the chances for recovery of sick people who need transplantation of peripheral blood stem cells or bone marrow are better.
The initiator of this action at the UAS Baltazar is our Student Ombudsperson and a member of the Student Council Baltazar Monika Buzo, bacc. admin. publ., who said: “I was motivated by my personal experiences from my surroundings and I have been thinking for some time lately about registering with the Croatian Peripheral Blood Stem Cells Donors Registry, so I decided to put forward the organization of this action at Baltazar. The Interim Dean and the colleagues from the Student Council promptly agreed, so we arranged the date and time with the Foundation employees.”
So far the actions of the Ana Rukavina Foundation and the Croatian Register (which is a member of the world register Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide) helped register 55143 potential peripheral blood stem cells donors and 74 sick people in Croatia and worldwide were given the chance for life.
Thanks to everyone who attended and took part in this action!
