The programme included panel discussions and presentations by renowned experts on education and entrepreneurship from Great Britain, Belgium, Slovenia, Poland and Croatia, who are not only distinguished professors, but also successful businessmen with entrepreneurial experience.
Karen, Rémy and Ludwig, aka the Pillgreens, are three students who arrived in Zaprešić in their tuk-tuk, after visiting Thailand, Laos, China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Georgia, Armenia and Turkey. They stopped off at our University to tell an interesting story about their epic journey to our students. These brave students managed to prove that it is possible to travel half the world using only electric energy. They told our students all about their journey, the problems they came across during their adventure, the reactions to their tuk-tuk in different countries and the support they enjoyed in all countries they have visited so far.
Innovation and creative decision making
The University of Applied Sciences was a host to prof. Laurence Hewick, Ph.D., an expert in the field of innovation and creative decision making in entrepreneurship. Stars at Baltazar
A famous Croatian producer and a double Academy-Award-winner, Mr. Branko Lustig, gave a host lecture at Baltazar, which was organised as part of collaboration of our University with the NGO Zagreb Jewish Film Festival. During a two-hour lecture by the famous producer, our students had an opportunity to hear his harrowing life story of one of the last survivors from Auschwitz concentration camp, but also a great career tale of success. Mr. Lustig also revealed what it was like to work with Steven Spielberg, why he is fond of Russell Crowe, how he had an argument with George Clooney, or why his favourite movie is The Gladiator… Still, his first movie Ne okreći se, sine! (My Son, Don’t turn Round, also known as Don’t Look Back, My Son) holds a special place in his heart.
As part of collaboration with the Founder Institute, our University hosted Wahyd Vannoni, an expert on marketing and branding and a lecturer at Hult Business School of London. Mr Vannoni delivered an extremely interesting lecture on the subject of branding and the best marketing practices in the world.
Husein Hasanefendić Hus
“Baltazar lounge” is a comfortable place for conversation and sharing thoughts and ideas. A famous Croatian guitarist, author and one of the founders of the Croatian band Parni valjak, Husein Hasanefendić Hus, had the honour to be the first guest in our lounge. The first social event in Baltazar lounge was staged as part of the Music and Scenery Production Practicum within the study of Cultural Management. Future managers had an opportunity to learn from the experience of a musician who has been making musical history for 40 years, and find out what expectations musicians have of managers, what his experience with managers was like, and how he acts in the role of a manager.

The University of Applied Sciences Baltazar organizes online conferences, so that our professors who cannot attend them still get the chance to participate virtually in exchanging ideas with their colleagues. One of these conferences is the Business English Special Interest Group (BESIG), Satellite Event. This was a satellite transmitted conference which gathered Business English teachers in Barcelona. The BESIG Conference is held twice a year and the University Baltazar has been organizing satellite transmission of the bigger conference for the past few years, and the last one was held in Barcelona in 2015.
Another smaller conference was convened at the beginning of collaboration with CAMPUS 02 University of Applied Sciences Graz, with the intention to further develop the industry education system.
